Movement  to  music : Our  wellbeing  remedy

Over the twenty plus years career in sports and fitness coaching, I have learnt that it is equally as important to train the mind as it is to train the body.  Understanding psychology and how to foster positive mental health allows you to lead a more enriched life.  It is impossible to dance with a frown and one of our most popular activities in the community is our 'Movement to Music' sessions.  We coach beginner salsa, bachata and kizomba dance.  Dancing is a great way of connecting with others through music.  The sessions are sociable, help you overcome so many issues including social isolation, low self esteem and low mood / stress / anxiety / depression.  There is evidence to support that learning to dance, training your brain to coordinate your limbs and torso rhythmically has a positive impact on degenerative illnesses associated with older adults.  So start young and you'll find a passion you can do anywhere, anytime, for life..
